Some years back, the term "globalisation" sounded so distant and new-age. Now, its closely intertwined with my life.
Many jobs (especially those in my field) require some extent of travelling, some even require an extensive bit of travelling. A couple of years back, I welcomed this idea with open arms. In fact, I tried to land myself in a job based in Australia or London.
Eventually, I took up my current job and had my fair share of travelling (alone), which I am totally fine with. I enjoy having fun overseas (when not working, that is) and love savouring local speciality (nothing too adventurous though). However, at the back of my mind, my heart belongs here and familiarity is my best form of comfort.
I realised its not just happening to me but many friends around me, who are either studying overseas (PX) or working overseas (Im and Oh-oh). Sometimes, I miss them so badly and our forms of communication are either MSN or emails.
My greatest worry is not being in Singapore when they are back for holidays!
