The arrangement was to meet YQ for a free financial talk. Actually both of us were pretty skeptical (YQ imagined that we might get conned $50,000!) and curious at the same time.
Its totally crazy to arrange any appointment after work on weekdays 'coz I work in suburbs which meant I could only meet people late and that meant I would end up going home late, sleeping late and eventually, feeling tired the following day.
Today's challenge was to get to Apollo hotel by 7pm. In order to meet the challenge, I left office sharp and drove as fast as I could. Firstly, I did a wrong turn (always happen when I am under stress) and missed CTE. Secondly, I did two wrong turns and had to go through the same road (traffic jam) thrice before I finally got to the hotel carpark. Thirdly, I accidentally exited the carpark and had to illegally drive back in. Lastly, I proclaimed the hotel carpark as the worst I had ever encountered in Singapore. I nearly went mad trying to navigate 6 stories before finding a lot in that tiny carpark. I was so worried about leaving a piece of Turtle on the walls while doing those narrow turns!
By the time I reached the lobby, it was 7.30pm and YQ probably cramped from waiting.
We entered the function room and took our seats. The chairs were quite small and neatly arranged in rows so my neighbour (not YQ!) nearly elbowed me a few times. Shortly after, I dozed off (thanks to a hard day's work and stress from driving).
After half an hour or less, YQ elbowed me and we decided to go off for dinner.
Perhaps wealth and I are not meant to be. I was supposed to be enriching myself at a talk teaching me to enhance my wealth but I ended up splurging and being a glutton at Crystal Jade. At the end of the day, I am still a Foodie.
