I appreciated the prompt email response I had gotten so far. The benchmark seemed to be reply within 3 hours, or at least that was what I experienced so far. It was economical as there wasn't a need to follow up with overseas phone calls which could be a hefty sum.
However, I was shocked by the contents of 2 emails from the same girl. She sounded rather rude and demanding in her emails, ran short of patience as we asked her for more details. She just wanted us to accede her requests, best without any enquiries.
I raised my eyebrows when I saw her replies. There was bold in red and there was a repeat of "instructions". I looked at my Thai colleague, who was cool, calm and composed and replied these emails without batting her eyelids.
I attribute this to either cultural differences (Singaporeans might be just too uptight about courtesy) or knowledge of English (perhaps that colleague didn't mean to sound rude, perhaps my Thai colleague interpreted the tone differently).
I am amused by the content, still.
