National Day falls on Thursday so for most working folks, applying leave on Friday means you get a long weekend. On the contrary, I don't like to go on leave on such days 'coz I am banging on the possibility that most people are going away. This means a rather empty office on Friday and I love it when the pace slows down at work.
Furthermore, I am hoping that my crab feast venue (National Day eve!) will not be crowded - since most folks are going overseas.
I guess my chances are high. If my family is representative of Singapore's population... Out of the five members, two are going overseas (40%), one is going for the parade, one is attending a gathering and one is savouring peace and quietness at home. My odds are high, 40% of the citizens are away!
