Politics

Perhaps, we can't blame people for being political at work 'coz a job is at stake, impression management is a skill, conflicts of interest exist, monetary rewards are overly alluring... What if we take away all these and consider voluntary tasks on hand, where everything is based on free will and there's no money or appraisal concerned?

As long as there is work to be done, emotional imbalance bounds to exist. The voluntary tasks (assigned by superiors) are remotely related to work, so some people carry forward their mentality from work. Its the case when A is not happy 'coz B is deemed (by A) to be working less hard than A, or clocking less hours.

What is the essence of volunteer work? Maybe, I perceived it as volunteering and A didn't. There have to be ugly scenes where one starts to second-guess another person's reasons for not attending.

Does true volunteering exists?
