misunderstanding

Today, I received an email from LM after not hearing from her for some time. She was overseas for work trips for a period of time and I totally lost track of her whereabouts. It was so delightful to be hearing from her again.

We were discussing miscellaneous stuff, i.e. meeting up with other mutual friends. She then mentioned PY (my primary 4 classmate) who was my secondary 1 partner. I got a nasty shock when I added PY on Friendster but was rejected.

As far as I could remember, PY and I had a great time being partners and we even joined the same sports ECA. For the rest of our secondary school lives, we were in different classes but since LM and PY go school together, I would chat with them whenever I bump into them.

Those were such sweet memories. Eventually, LM and PY went to the same college (same primary school, same secondary school, same college) and I lost touch with PY. However, I assumed we were on friendly terms.

I told LM about the nasty shock and it gave her a nasty shock as well, 'coz PY was such a lovely girl and wouldn't be so unfriendly for no reason. LM insisted on finding out the truth while I pretended to forget about it (so pai seh). Eventually, I cleanly forgot about this trauma until LM brought it up today.

It turned out that there was some bug with Friendster and PY wanted to add me but couldn't. Oh man! I am thankful to have friends like LM who believed in both of us and was so determined.

Internet is evil. Sometimes, you ended up uncovering things you didn't intend to. Other times, it caused misunderstanding between friends!
