A simple sms from SL brought me back to the theatre tonight. To be more precise, its the "Theatre Idol".
I went for it in 2005 (inaugural, I think). I excitedly asked for 8 tickets (or something like that) and brought a small village with me. The administration for ticketing was horrendously messy. There were 3 plays and the whole event dragged way past waking hours. The standards (of the 3 plays) were distinctively different, with one being more developed than the other two.
Tonight, the ticketing remains a nightmare for SL and I (perhaps, not for the others). There were only 2 plays and time was better managed.
There was no drastic gaps in standards, however in general, the crowd prefers something light-hearted and steers away from dark psycho-thriller.
I supposed the theatre and I are still somehow connected in some way. Perhaps, its a tie that I cannot sever.
