Chinese food!

The Chinese restaurant opposite my apartment looks inviting, at least, the signboard is in Chinese.

I was hoping to savour Chinese food like those found it Singapore. Alas! It serves herbal tonic cuisine of Northern origins, which was exactly what I had last night. The Northerners are heavy on carbohydrates intake and that doesn't appeal to me. Instead of noodles or dumplings, I chose to order a soup and sweet and sour pork.

The owners looked Thais and so I spoke English to them. They gave me this appalled look and immediately I switched to Mandarin. The service was not fantastic as they served customers who came in after me, before me. They told me 'coz the dishes I ordered take longer time to prepare.

The soup was enough to feed my whole family (the waitress couldn't be bothered to tell me the serving portion when I asked) and the pork was overwhelming with flour coating. The consolation was that food was pipping hot (as compared to lukewarm food at many places in Thailand)!

Maybe, its bad customer service carried over from China. I am now pinning my hopes on the other Chinese restaurant spotted.
