bad sheep

The perception was that service level is generally good in Land of Smiles, you would expect plenty of smiles literally.

The dinner venue for tonight was the Italian place which is a little pricey (by Bangkok standards). Since I was all praise for the food quality, my two dinner kakis decided to give it a try.

My order did not come long after my company's orders did, so I checked with the waitress whose reply was,
"Who did you place the order with?"

I was stunned for words 'coz the service staff were not wearing name tags and I couldn't tell one from the other. ML got confused and told us that she thought the waitress who asked the question, was exactly the one who took our orders. We got even more confused.

After asking that question, the waitress disappeared from our sight (despite not getting an answer from us). That left us baffled.

Some time later, she appeared with my order.

So I asked,
"Was my order missed out just now?"

She snapped,
"You said no, no, no when I repeated your order."

Me (with question marks all over my head)
"I said no, no, no when you asked us about side orders."

The order went
1. Waitress took my order.
2. Waitress took ML's order.
3. Waitress asked whether we want side orders to which I answered no, no, no.

Judging from her bad attitude, there was no point in arguing. We were appalled by the rudeness and wondered whether it was because we didn't order appetisers/wines.

The other thing I couldn't understand was why each time I step into this restaurant, they would ask whether I made a reservation. When I answered no, they would made me sit at a brightly lit table near the windows (a little too bright for comfort). However throughout my dinner, many other tables remained empty.
