Since Black Forest flavour ice-cream from Island Creamery was featured in "Lifestyle 100 Best Dishes" some weeks back, I was determined to give it a try. I am a big fan of Island Creamery and also, of Black Forest cakes (Jack's Cake House is my favourite), so a combination of both would be heavenly.
I had tried a number of flavours at Island Creamery but had never seen Black Forest flavour in the selection. In fact, I visit the shop each Christmas, trying my luck to lay my hands on the Mango flavour.
The Black Forest flavour was yummy. I love chocolate (bitter please), I love rum and I love brandied cherries. However, I still prefer the Mango flavour. In fact to-date, Island Creamery offered the best Mango flavour I ever tasted. Sadly, I never managed to get hold of them after my last try (Its never available around Christmas!).
In my opinion, the Mango flavour is more deserving to be a "Lifestyle 100 Best Dishes". I never knew there will be a day when I will choose Mango over dark chocolate.
Is my love for dark chocolate flickering off?
