My moment of folly has led to a group of people being taken (monetary) advantage of. Not that anyone stood out and pointed finger at me. In fact, I wondered whether I was overly skeptical and suspicious.
Maybe I was wrong about the accused. Whatever is the case, its a mishandling on my part and we all have to pay a price (literally, since its money) for my mistake.
I felt so silly and unjust (for those victims) so I confided in
1. My parents, who told me to look at the flip side of the same coin.
2. YQ, who told me that there's nothing wrong with being trusting but unfortunately, I might have trusted the wrong person.
3. CT, who told me that she would have done the same (and ended up in the same consequences).
Hearing them do make me feel better.
We all learnt something from our experiences, be it good or bad experiences. I learnt that some people might be dishonest and parents' and some friends' kind words can make a difference to my day.
