By right, we should be adhering to policies set but since we deviated for so long, we kind of forgot what was written in the books. Since we had been having things our way and no one bothered to insist on narrowing the gap, it had gotten wider ever since.
The problem surfaces when I took deviation for granted and subconsciously regarded it as the rightful way for things to be done. Many have gotten away with the policies and did things to their conveniences.
Today, I once again wanted to take a short cut. I happily promised delivery by tomorrow afternoon until I realised that we do need to follow the books now. I had no idea who stepped in to right things.
I was grouchy for a while then I realised, maybe I had taken short cuts for granted for too long.
