The initial plan to go Chinatown was scrapped. There was no point for a two-people trip when one has to rush back by 8pm. I just couldn't bring myself to make rushed trips when I am overseas.
The initial thought and longing (???) to savour Chinese food never died. It started to pour but I had to make the daily all-so-important grocery shopping trip. Its more enjoyable when you make daily mini trips (versus weekly mega trips) though it rates low on efficiency.
Bliss. I spotted Thailand version of fishcake. It might be a common Asian snack but I was still glad to see it. It reminded me of 肥雄 in Singapore.
After various attempts (microwave, frying), it finally became hot and crispy. Perhaps, the expectation in place was too high. From the initial plain happiness (to be eating fishcake) to comparing the taste in mind and then, feeling a shortfall on expectation. Its a tad to salty.
I need my Singaporean Chinese food.
